Could you be a board member of The Generator?
Could you be a board member of the Generator? Read on, we are interested in hearing from you!
The current board members have worked tirelessly to maintain the integrity of the Generator building while transforming it into a sustainable and fit for purpose arts and cultural venue.
Securing money for feasibility work, research development, capital and finally crowd funding before entering a 2-year programme of construction work has not been an easy journey and has required very difficult decisions being made along the way. It was, however, all worthwhile when we were able to open our doors for our first public event on the 24th April 2026.
We now need to develop our board as we enter our next phase, bringing the building into use, pulling together a programme that can inspire, engage and meet the needs and expectations of our local community.
If you would like to see the Generator be successful and thrive in these challenging economic times and you think that you can help to support the work of the Generator in making a positive community impact we would like to hear from you.
Experience of sitting on a board is not necessary but we want to develop a board that works to the collective good of the aims of the Generator and the many different communities it intends to serve.
Working on the board will involve individuals to act with reasonable care and skill in the best interest of the Generator to ensure that we meet our obligations as a CIC. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Board in the development of Corporate Strategy, good Governance and Leadership. Having a personal commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is also essential in this role. This is a voluntary, unpaid position. The link below provides more information about what is involved. We are excited to hear from you.
