Heritage open day tour (ticket tailer test)

The Generator Hall, along with The Old Art College, are the last remaining Technical College buildings from the time of Herbert Schofield - an inspirational educationalist. The College provided training as industries developed in the late 19th and early 20th Century and formed the basis for the now internationally renowned Loughborough University. The extraordinary generators (U-Boat engines salvaged after WWI), in the Generator Hall, provided electricity for the many College buildings in the centre of the town.
