Our Mission

A multi-story brick building with large grid windows, some of which are open, and a few leafless trees in front.

Through the restoration of the historic Packe Street Building, once home to repurposed WW2 U-Boat generators used to power Loughborough College, we aim to create a flexible and multi-purpose arts venue. The space will support a diverse range of multidisciplinary art forms, celebrating and strengthening Loughborough's vibrant creative community.

A space for ideas and imagination, where creativity inspires connection and new possibilities can grow.

We hope to be a home for emerging scenes and a place where collectives are supported with the space, guidance and resources they need to thrive.

Our Vision

"Igniting creativity, empowering communities"

We believe that access to art opportunities should be available and open to all, regardless of geographical location, marginalised experiences, or socioeconomic background.

Participatory arts has the potential to garner real social change within communities, and we intend to utilise that potential through bottom-up co-created collaborative art initiatives and community engagement.

We're here to spark creativity by bringing together artists, thinkers, and change-makers. Through bold programming and a warm, welcoming space, we want to create room for fresh ideas to take shape, grow, and hopefully make a real difference.

Our hope is to inspire lasting change and bring something meaningful to the lives of people in Loughborough.

BOLD

We believe in taking risks, trying new things and stepping outside the usual way of doing things. Being bold means having the courage to explore new ideas and ways of working.

We support people who are willing to challenge expectations and bring fresh energy to the arts. By creating a space where bold thinking is encouraged, we make room for new voices and creative change.

INSPIRE

We are driven by the people who challenge norms, express themselves boldly and connect meaningfully with our space, their creativity and artistry are central to who we are.

By offering space, support, and encouragement, we aim to help them explore, take risks, and create impactful work, and in turn, spark inspiration in others.

OPENNESS

We actively engage in dialogue with a willingness to reflect and adapt. Our aim is to become a venue that not only welcomes all voices but aspires to influence change and lead by example.

We listen with intention, ask thoughtful questions and stay open to learning. By doing so, we seek to uplift different perspectives and experiences, not silence them—ensuring our space remains inclusive, responsive and ever-evolving.

INCLUSIVITY

We believe that creativity thrives when everyone feels they belong. Inclusivity is not just about access, but about actively making space for people to take part, lead and feel represented.

We centre voices that have been historically excluded and work to remove barriers wherever we find them. By building a culture of respect and care, we make the Generator a place where difference is valued and everyone has the chance to contribute.

COMPASSION

We approach our work and each other with care, understanding and empathy. Compassion means recognising the challenges people face and responding with patience, respect and support.

We create space for kindness in how we lead, collaborate and welcome others in. By putting people first, we build a culture where everyone feels safe to be themselves and supported to grow.
